Exhibit 88

The beach is where people reveal themselves both physically and intimately. I mean in the sense that for most part we are only found lying down in bed, or at home on a sofa, but the beach is where we strip down to swimwear and disport ourselves in attitudes of abandon. This male figure looks as if he has been thrown down on the beach or left there to await what ever monster or Minotaur lurks in the blackness of the arch behind him.
Black and white photographs seem to render even the sunniest days into Stygian gloom, creating the illusion of madness on the part of the holidaymakers on the beach, and drawing strange mythical comparisons from the viewer.
