This photograph of a photograph on a gravestone was taken in West Norwood Cemetery. This young woman was buried there long ago, but the gravestone features a photo of her. She gains an immortality not only through her gravestone but through photographs like mine. Strangely when I was searching google the other day to find out the name of the cemetery I came across another photographer’s pictures and he has a picture that is almost identical to mine. So identical that I almost did a double take thinking he had stolen my picture but no, his photograph is slightly different, it is the grave and its image that is the same.
